Is AF Understanding BPM – ERP Update

Updates to: PEO Strategy , BPM for ERP and ECSS Cost Estimate

After fielding ERP pilots under ECSS that had huge manuals to explain process, it appears the passion for ERP technology is ending. AF leadership has again ended the effort for ERP deployment, opting instead for the strategy they offered last time the program came under senior review. The Secretary and CSAF previously stated ERP was too big to succeed (pun intended) and that “filling gaps between legacy” was a far better approach. Well I agreed and said so at Appian World 2012. Now senior leaders have halted round two efforts to focus on simple increments of ERP and are talking about “legacy system integration and remediation”. To those leaders I offer the approach of Ninga BPM from that presentation as the means to that end. And senior leaders like AFLCMC/CC Lt Gen CD Moore and others are open to BPM as a means to deal with integrating and standardizing there new enterprises. Lets hope they move quickly as ECSS and other ERP funding is realigned to legacy sustainment to carve our a portion to apply BPM to the suite and glue together the most important data bases in a new process model. Just saying….. Enter the BPM Dragon!
